A waterproof and fog-proof design makes the binoculars suitable for a wide variety of terrain, and a rubber exterior enables a comfortable, firm grip in wet and dry conditions. The lenses feature multiple coats of anti-reflective compounds to optimize light transmission, and use Nikon's "Eco-Glass", which is made without arsenic or lead. The binoculars also feature an ergonomic design with a large, central focus wheel, and their turn-and-slide eyecups ensure they can be used comfortably by people wearing glasses.
