The Porro prism mounting system is used to enable a wide field of view and improved depth perception. This means that users can scan for an objective at 7x magnification, enabling them to see an area 87 meters wide at a time at a distance of 1000m. When the objective is spotted, users can zoom in to 15x magnification for a closer look, narrowing the field of view to 61m. The objective lens is 25mm, which is the smallest in the Bushnell Powerview Porro series. The optics are coated to eliminate glare, which allows for improved light transmission and a brighter image. The focus is handled by a dial in the center that allows for adjustment without letting go with either hand, and a non-slip rubber armor helps to prevent accidental drops.
