While this does make them slightly bulkier and increase the weight to 18.8 oz, they have the advantage of increased light gathering ability for a clearer picture. These binoculars do not use a focus function, instead allowing the user's eye to focus naturally on the target. The lenses are fully coated, which eliminates glare and allows for a clearer image. BK-7 prisms work with the lenses to achieve a 10x magnification, and use a roof-mounted design to reduce the size of the binoculars and add some durability. A non-slip rubber coating is used to prevent accidental drops and help protect against impact.
